It was a long weekend for Kenny Chesney he revealed that his home on the island of St John in U.S. Virgin Islands was destroyed during Hurricane Irma. Kenny says more than 20 people and 10 dogs were sheltering in his home at the time the hurricane hit, but thankfully everyone is okay. He says they thought that since the home was made out of structurally sound materials like stone and concrete it would make a good shelter, but the strength of Irma was too great. Despite the home's windows being tested to withstand winds of up to 200 miles per hour, Kenny says all of them were blown out in the storm.

After hearing about the destruction caused by Hurricane Irma in the Caribbean islands, Kenny Chesney immediately started a foundation where people can donate funds to help those affected by the storm. The new foundation will be called "Love For Love City," a reference to the nickname of St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands where he owns a home. Kenny promised that a "musical connection" to help raise money was also in the works.
