Music City Minute: Glen Campbell, Kacey Musgraves, & LoCash

Country music legend Glen Campbell has passed away at the age of 81. Glen died in Nashville yesterday following a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. During his long and accomplished career, Glen released more than 70 albums and sold over 45 million records. He also earned the ultimate honor when he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2005. In June of this year, Campbell said farewell with the release of his final studio album, Adiós.


Almost as soon as the news came out about Glen’s passing, celebrities starting paying tribute on social media. Here are some highlights:


Tim McGraw: "Songs, songs, songs. Man, in a world of good stuff, his was great. In a world of great stuff, his was special."


Dolly Parton: posted a video and a tribute, writing, "Glen Campbell was one of the greatest voices of all time. I will always love you, Glen."


Blake Shelton: "Extremely sad to hear that Glen Campbell has passed away. My prayers and thoughts go out to him and his family."


Brad Paisley: "Thank you @GlenCampbell for the artistry, grace and class you brought to country music. You were a shining light in so many ways."


Kacey Musgraves fans get ready to set your DVR’s! Kacey will be the next singer to guest star on CMT’s Nashville, you can catch her on the show’s Season 5 finale on Thursday! She hinted at her upcoming appearance by sharing a video on Instagram that shows her director’s chair next to the chairs of cast members Charles Esten and Clare Bowen. You can check out Kacey’s acting skills Thursday at 8 on CMT.

LoCash recently shared a video of them singing TLC’s 1995 hit "Waterfalls" on their tour bus, and the acoustic cover seems to have the approval of group's own Rozonda “Chili” Thomas. Shortly after the duo posted the video on Instagram, Chilli responded by suggesting that the two groups should get together for a collaboration. Chilli said, "My boys @LoCash did that!!! Guys let's get this collab together asap! And we definitely need to sing this song together…u guys killed the harmonies just missing myself and T-Boz." 

 Brett Eldredge fans don’t forget he will perform his new single “The Long Way” on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
