Hometown:

Hopkinsville, Kentucky

First Concert:

Freddy Fender, 1978 (not out of choice. My mom made me go). First concert of CHOICE was Van Halen. I snuck out of the house to go with a boy my dad wouldn’t let me see. This guy had a Harley and we rode from Oak Grove, Kentucky to Nashville to see Van Halen. I so totally got busted when I got home. But what an awesome time.

Favorite Food:

A JUICY RARE STEAK, tomatoes and strawberries

Name one tune that's "Most Played" in your iPod:

tie between “Redlight” from David Nail and “Me and Mrs. Jones/Michael Buble version…

Last Book Read:

The Boy In The Striped Pajama’s by John Boyne, however every night I read the same children’s book called “Goodnight Moon”

Last Movie Seen:

I haven’t been to a theater in 8 years…seriously I don’t have the patience to sit through a movie…the last DVD I watched was “Doubt”

One thing most people don’t know about me!

I’m left handed but I golf, throw, bat, bowl and use scissors with my right hand.

Hobbies:

I collect elephants (I have about 200 of them of various shapes, sizes and materials), I run and take yoga.

What makes Life GREAT?

My family. Marrying a man with kids made me realize how selfish I was before. Having a child of my own made me realize how much I can love something. That incomprehensible kind of love and devotion. That and a really well made cup of coffee.

Favorite Childhood Memory.

Sitting on the armrest in the car next to my dad while we drove somewhere. That was my ‘seat’. This was a time when kids didn’t use carseats. It’s a wonder I never got hurt but I remember this because this is where I learned to steer a car. Around 6 or 7 my dad would let me take the wheel. Try not to think about that too much. Dangerous and really stupid but man what great memories.

What makes you laugh?

The kids. Their lives are hilarious. I seriously live through my kids. My husband is pretty funny too but my kids are a riot.

Cats or Dogs?

Definitely dogs. Cats either go to the bathroom in a box in your house or poop in your flower beds. I’d rather scoop the landmines in the yard then find one accidentally while I plant bulbs. I have a dog, Tater Tot. Pug. He’s old and fat and he’s the bomb.

What celebrity crushes did you have as a teenager?

Ew…Rick Springfield, Shaun Cassidy…

Latest Accomplishment?

I’m rocking nights now in San Antonio.

Why I do what I do?

Country music has been a part of my life since I came into this world. My dad’s influence lead me here. I cannot imagine playing or feeling more passionate about any other genre of music. The songs are who we are. They are our lives. How can you not take country music personally?
